OICC’s award for the İzmir Wildlife Park

Izmir metropolitan municipality’s Natural Life Park was awarded as the best practice in the branch of “municipality services, landscape and environment” by Organization of Islamic capitals and cities (OICC).

Izmir Natural Life Park attracting international interest owing to its species diversity and green nature was deemed worthy of the first price by OICC being an organization affiliated to Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

The vice president of Izmir metropolitan municipality Dr. Sirri Aydogan received the first award from Prince MonsourMite’b Bin Abdulaziz, the minister of Saudi Arabia municipality and rural affairs within the scope of “13th General conference of the organization of Islamic capitals and cities held in Mecca. Plate, certificate of appreciation and Kaaba cover were presented to the vice president Dr. Sirri Aydogan and department head of metropolitan municipality survey project Bahyettin Akyol as gifts at the ceremony.

The organization of Islamic capitals and cities was founded in 1980 as a non-profit international non-governmental organization affiliated to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). Izmir metropolitan municipality became the member of OICC on 11th February 2008.
141 capitals and cities of 54 Islamic countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and South America continents are among active members.
