Animal Protection

The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) is a union established in 1948 for influencing, encouraging and supporting communities all around the world for protecting integrity and diversity of the nature and assuring fair and ecological sustainability of the natural resources.

The IUCN issues the Red List of Species Threatened with Extinction.

The IUCN Red List is issued based on a precise criterion and through assessment of extinction risk of thousands of species and sub species. This criterion is related to the all species and all regions around the world.

Izmir Wildlife Park’s website has an Our Animals section that provides detailed information about each animal of our park and also has “Protection Status”. The protection status information available on this section is updated on http://www.iucnredlist.org/.
